U.S. 421/Salem Parkway
Type: Road Improvements
Affected County: Forsyth
The Business 40 Improvement Project (U-2827B) has been officially renamed U.S. 421/Salem Parkway. This construction project includes removing, replacing, and improving pavement and ramps from west of 4th Street to east of Church Street in Winston-Salem.
Before the first phase of construction can begin, officials from the NCDOT will be contacting property owners in Winston-Salem to begin the right-of-way acquisition process. The NCDOT selected a Design Build team for the U.S. 421/Salem Parkway in August of 2016, and right-of-way contact with property owners is currently under way.
Home and business owners along the planned route may face seizure of all or some of their property. NCDOT has also hired a business liaison, Cassandra Herndon, to assist local business owners affected by construction.Click here for additional information on this project
