The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) plans to make improvements to NC 279 (New Hope Road) from SR 2478 (Titman Road) to SR 2435 (Union-New Hope Road). There are 209 parcels affected, and the DOT has budgeted $29.5 M. Right of way acquisiton is currently underway and expected to be complete by July 2027.
