Important Information About Disaster Relief Efforts in North Carolina Following Hurricane Matthew

Many communities in North Carolina are recovering from the recent flooding that swept through the area during Hurricane Matthew. 27 counties in North Carolina have been declared “disaster counties.” Right now we all need to pitch in and lend a helping hand.

Attorney Rachel Fuerst is a board member of Disability Rights NC, which advocates for the rights and welfare of people with disabilities in North Carolina.

Disability Rights NC has been asked to serve as a co-facilitator of daily phone calls for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) during this crisis. Disability Rights NC will help take daily calls from those impacted by the flooding, with a special focus on people with disabilities.
